Hi guys, long time no updates! Last year I graduated from uni with a degree in... computer stuff. I've been looking for work, working full time, and working on my own projects ever since so don't worry, I haven't died. I majored in games technology so I am essentially a games developer (I spend 80% of my free time working on games). That's pretty much why I haven't been on deviantART or working on any Firefox add-ons or themes, I just haven't had the time and have put my games work in front of everything else. With that in mind, let me introduce to you the fruits of my labour over the last few months, Mech Arena:
Fight against other machines (PVP or against computer)
Unlock new parts by completing challenges
Share you creations with others
For those of you who have no idea what Mech Arena is (that would be all of you because it has absolutely no following yet), it is a physics building game inspired by Besiege.
The idea is pretty simple; you build machines out of a selection of parts including blocks, beams, wheels, pistons, weapons and a whole range of other things, and you fight against other machines with your creations in tournaments. If anyone here has played Robot Arena 2, the tournaments are similar to that. There will also be a challenge play mode, similar to what they are doing with Besiege. You unlock new parts by completing the challenges.
Obviously it's still a work in progress. It's a rather big game for one fledgling developer to be working on but it's coming together and I'm passionate about it.
What you need to do
I'm hoping to get a bit of community interest in this to keep me going and to get feedback so I can get a feel for what players are after in this genre so please, let me know what you think. If you think it looks promising, great; if there are some things that you really don't think work or need improvement I'm all ears. And lastly, if you like it, spread the word! I'm hoping to get as much coverage as possible.
